Of the various activities I find time to enjoy, kayaking deserves a special mention, as it is the best outdoor hobby, which offers a diverse range of experience. Whether you want some peace and quiet in tranquil waters or an exciting roller coaster ride in speeding streams, kayaking is an ideal way to fulfill your dreams. I make it a point to go on as many kayak rides as I can pack into my busy fashion-designing schedule.
Kayaking is of different types. You have the whitewater kayaking, which is quite challenging, as you have to navigate the kayak in fast moving waters. If you don’t like the adrenaline rush of the whitewater rafting and yearn for some peace and quiet, the flatwater kayaking is the best option. And you get fishing kayaks too, which have risen to popularity in recent years. The kayak also has special adjustments for enabling better fishing experience.
Recently there has been a welcoming surge in people taking up to kayaking. Different types of boats and environments are being tried out. While some prefer the challenging whitewater kayaking, I like the more laid-back flatwater of fishing kayak.
If you are just starting on your kayaking trip, here are some useful tips.
• When selecting a kayak irrespective of the environment you want to use it in, ensure that you get a good quality kayak like the fishing kayaks at http://www.kayakouch.com/best-fishing-kayak-reviews-under-1000/
• A proper sail custom made for kayaks should be used. The cheaper sails are not of good quality materials and design, so it is better to avoid them.
• If you are sailing in a kayak for the first time, it is safer to take a few lessons on kayak sailing. Since this involves certain safety concerns, which cannot be defined well as they change based on the factors present, you need some basic instructions to become successful at kayaking.
• Next to knowing about the kayak, know the area where you are kayaking in. The lake and the surrounding woods should be familiar to you, so you can avoid any hazards present. Further, you will know about swimmers in the area and avoid disturbing them.
• The weather forecast is important, so check for it so you have a clear weather when you are sailing. Wind or rain can spoil your kayaking plans.
• And just as you have different boat types, you have different varieties of kayaks. You have kayaks customized for rapids, sailing, and fishing. All you need to do is get one designed to suit your needs. I have a wonderful Wilderness System Pungo kayak, which is just right for fishing.
• Whether you want to go sailing for one day or a couple of days bring food with you in case you decide to stay on water longer than you had planned or something happens to prolong your sailing time.
• Safety equipment such as lifejacket and helmet should always be worn. While this doesn’t mean you are expecting some mishap to occur it helps to be well prepared.
• Just as you should know where other swimmers are, you should also know about other fellow kayakers. Knowing where they are will help in avoiding unwanted collisions.
Clothes form an important part of who we are irrespective of whether we wear expensive designer wear or just ordinary clothes. The clothes we wear today are part of the creative work done by some exceptionally talented people without whom we would still be wearing what our ancestors had worn way back. This makes fashion industry a significant part of our society.
The role of fashion
As we all know, change is the only thing that is permanent over the years and it is true in the fashion industry too. We have seen vast changes happening in all other fields due to the technological advancements that are continuously evolving.
The fashion industry too has undergone several sophisticated changes in both fashion style and the way the industry functions. We get all kinds of dresses designed from clothing that cover the whole body to skimpy dresses that provide the bare minimal coverage. All these are part of the changes the industry has undergone and the creativity that is in abundance here.
In spite of being much commercialized the industry has been striving to help us be clothed properly while at the same time manage to look stylish and in line with the latest trends.
Fashion is one of the most glamorous industries and one, which also ranks high in the most favored list among the various industries. Nevertheless, it is also one of the most underrated. While fashion industry has almost all individuals as its direct customers, as they frequent either the retail cloth shop or the vintage ones, people still look at those in the fashion industry as shallow hobbyists. Whatever opinion people have about those in the fashion industry or the industry as a whole, they still don’t stop buying from the industry.
Benefits of the industry
Fashion industry has many benefits to its name. Here are a few key ones you should know about
Fashion industry has its sole focus on the producing clothes of all sizes and shapes, which are done by some special and talented people belonging to the industry.
Good career prospects
There are plenty of jobs being created in the industry. It has great career prospects. Even this particular post that stresses on the fashion industry is a kind of job opportunity the field provides. There are both unskilled and skilled people employed in fashion industry for the work needed here. You get multiple levels of employees, right from garment workers and pattern creators to designers and packing agencies that employ a good amount of workers to finish the job.
Inspiration is defined as a better and new way of solving or answering an issue. In our daily life, we are constantly occupied with our work or daily routine that there is hardly any room to think fresh or come up with the perfect and insightful solution for a difficult issue. Here are some practical tips that will help you, when you are in need of creativity and inspiration. You can use any one or even a combination of the ideas below to help you.
Change your perspective
Most often, it is our own fixation to a particular pattern, which wreaks havoc with our creativity and inspiration. When you are faced with an issue, you should not dwell on what you can’t do, don’t know or unable to do, which only will fuel the negativity inside you and keep you from moving forward. These are closed statements, which discourage and set you back.
Instead, think of open ended phrases or questions like, I can, I will, I have and there is always a solution. When you have a positive outlook, the situation would not seem so daunting and you will actually find the answers, which you were not able to come up with before. This positive attitude helps to let the solutions and inspirations flow naturally.
Break away from mediocrity
This is the second and most effective way to be inspired. Think and take action, which is innovative and out of box. Try to do things for a day that you would not normally do. Alternatively, at least adhere to this for a couple of hours.
It can be deviation from the music you listen to normally or taking a new route to your office or trying unusual foods. When you try to break away from the mold, you will be exposed to new experiences and start seeing the world in a different perspective. This also helps in widening your perspective and boosting your creativity.
Music for mind
Music has been for long considered as an important link to our intellect and creative skills. When you listen to a Sonata of Mozart, you can increase your spatial intelligence temporarily. Find the time to listen to such inspirational music. Complex music is enjoyable and stimulating to listen and it refreshes your mind effectively.
Activity for better inspiration
Exercise can help in stimulating the brain as it creates new cells in hippocampal region of the brain. The physical activity motivates new patterns of thought to develop. Motion can help in inspiration too. When you involve yourself in activities such as running, yoga, aerobics, bicycling, walking or swimming, you will find fresh ideas generating easily from your mind.
Immerse in colors and nature
Nature is a versatile power that helps you to open up, embrace the diversity around you, and get inspired to create new and wonderful things. Colors have been found to have the capability of rejuvenating you. For instance, green and blue are great for calming and relaxing you, when your mind is in turmoil.
For creative and new ideas, vibrant colors like a garden with different colored flowers helps to stimulate your senses.
If you cannot for some reason be in natural surroundings, you can visualize the colors, see the seasonal color changes, hear the sounds made by creeks and birds and even smell fresh air. When you explore such natural beauty or imagine yourself listening to Mozart or any other musical work, you will find your mind being ready to embrace new things and you will be inspired to accomplish whatever you wish to do.
We possess within us the capacity to do things beyond our imagination because of the power we are endowed with. The human brain has been found to have various functions and operations, but still many things are present which we are not aware of, about the power our mind is endowed with.
The visualization exercises help to improve your mind power and help you achieve greater things in life.
Before we move on to the exercises let us see what visualization means. It is a skill, which helps you to imagine things and improve your brainpower as a result. Visualization involves imagination and creativity.
When you improve your visualization, you can also boost your imagination and creativity. The skill is needed for mind expansion and successful hypnosis, which once mastered can help you achieve greater things in life effortlessly. Without the right visualization, you cannot move forward in life and accomplish your goals successfully.
Here are some basic exercises I recommend:
While some people have the ability for imagination more than the rest and you happen to be in this category and find this exercise easy, you can start with the advanced exercises. For everyone else here is what you need to do:
Choose a quiet and comfortable place where you can relax. This exercise takes about 20 minutes. So ensure you are not interrupted.
Take deep breaths with your eyes closed and order your mind to relax.
Imagine an object you are familiar with like an orange or any other thing you like. It is easy to visualize. Focus on it and avoid distracting thoughts that can deflect you from focusing.
Now observe the fruit from all its sides and get a clear image of it. Focus on the color and the texture. When you concentrate on the details, you will stay focused. When your focus is good, you can easily zoom out or zoom in, and you will find that you are not distracted easily.
Next step is, you need to smell the orange, Cut the fruit and observe the color inside. End the exercise by tasting it. Eat the whole fruit and feel its taste, as you would in reality. When you do this right, you will feel your mouth fill up with saliva. Take deep breaths and count to five before opening your eyes.
This is the first level of visualization and easy to do. Repeat it, so you are not distracted easily.
Think of a person you know and recognize well. It can be your friend or relative. The steps in the first exercise can be repeated except for the eating portion. Imagine the person standing before you as you did with the fruit and look at every detail of the person as you zoom in and out and around him or her. While this is not as easy the earlier one, it is very effective when done properly.
When you get a clear image of the individual, try changing his clothes and see if it is good on the person or fit him well. This is where creative visualization comes in. When you do this exercise, you can improve your visualization skills greatly.
When you get good at these two exercises, you can move on to advanced exercises, which further strengthen your visualization skills.
Receiving an invitation to a party is certainly a good thing. You get all excited and start planning on what to wear, even if the party is to happen two or three weeks later. This is an entirely justifiable reaction one that everyone has including me. More often than not, I end up buying a new one to wear, even if there are loads and loads overflowing in my closet. Clothes are like our calling cards. They tell the onlooker who we are even before we start speaking with them.
We all like to look good and even stand out from the rest, provided it is because of our good choice instead of the other way around. Some ten or fifteen years ago, it was easy to decide on what to wear for a social occasion. There were roughly about four or five different attires totally, so choosing the right attire was a breeze.
For a karaoke party, where you sing along with friends with the nice karaoke machines, casual wear like jeans and tees were sufficient. Now with the urban chic, celebrity casual, black tie and whatnot you have to be extra careful on what you decide to wear or you end up being overdressed or underdressed. Therefore, here are some tips that help you relax and revel in the party
Jeans, shorts, tee shirts and flip-flops complete the casual look. But while choosing the casual wear keep in mind the party setting and the type of people likely to attend and dress up or down accordingly.
Business casual or semi casual
This style is not the casual type of dressing that comes to your mind and so no denims are allowed. Sports coats or blazers look great, but make sure women don’t wear khakis (it is however okay for men) and no shorts for the menfolk. And make sure you wear something that you’d do on a usual office day when you are to meet customers or clients. For karaoke parties, both casual and semi casual look would gel well. I recently attended one where the host had a wonderful VOVOPRO DVX karaoke machine that everyone was raving over. While casual look would have sufficed, the semi casual lends a more appealing touch to the party.
If the party is in a business set up, it is definitely suit and tie style for men and pant or skirt suits for women. Based on the job you hold, the dressing may vary. However, ensure you dress very well as you would for meeting with a highly valued client.
Cocktail or semi-formal
This certainly calls for silk tie and white shirts for men and classic LBD or blouse and pants in satin, silky, or similar fabric. And, high heels with sparkling jewelry too. But long dresses are not allowed.
Also known as black tie event, this is when you pull out all stops. While you can make your dress sizzle all you want, make sure it is understated yet draws all eyes on you in appreciation. It is long dresses for women and tuxedo for men.
While fashioning apparel is certainly where my best of skills rest, I also dab occasionally in home décor when I cannot refuse requests from clients and friends who insist I do it for them. Decorating a home is not that different from designing clothes, as the basic thread in both is you need to get an appealing look. And to get that universal appeal, you need to research a lot on what would look right.
Further most homemakers have a particular style in mind when they want to decorate their homes. And you can find a few who can’t make up their minds as to which type of décor would work out well for their homes. So here are some home décor tips from different countries including Japan and US, which you can consider while decorating your home.
Blend of modern and traditional décor
In Russia, it is common to see homes reflect the grandeur of traditional home décor, while modern fabrics, art, and decorative objects are mixed in to get an esthetically pleasing look. Whether it is the bourgeois Belle Epoque apartments or the dachas or old estates, vintage look is preferred by most people here, but the modern embellishments add a stunning contrast without spoiling the old world look.
In Italy, metal is a dominant decorating element used in most homes. The combination of homey aspects such as leather, spectacular stones, and wood, with silk and metal give an opulent look and are great to use too. From indoor décor to the outdoor patio and swimming pool furniture, you can see this blend giving a highly appealing ambience. While the temperature in Italy is highly conducive, back home, I often suggest homeowners try the efficient pool heaters such as those at http://poolheaterworld.com/best-solar-pool-heater-reviews/ to use the pool all year round.
Revival of crafts
Art deco movement in India is splendidly displayed with the use of lavish materials such as velvet, gold, and brass. Folding screens, carved dressing tables, cocktail chairs, or intricately worked daybeds are statement pieces, which adorn a typical modern home décor that leans towards traditional theme. While industrialization has led to waning of popularity of crafting, designers still manage to use global art, special techniques and cultural motifs to the textiles, decoration and colors used in the walls, cushions, towels, bed linens, throws and rugs.
Japanese love nature and this is why in spite of the urban residences having very little space they try to add some kind of greenery in their décor such as succulents, dry flowers, foliage plants and flowers in their homes.
Spanish décor has always held a splendid appeal. The hacienda style of décor has been followed in many places around the world. When you combine the modern textile elements and ceramics with traditional décor components, you get a pleasing and elegant look.
Whatever theme and décor you want to choose, make sure all the individual elements fuse well together and give a pleasing look overall, while they manage to make a statement individually.
Autumn arrives, and it's time for warmer clothes and new fashion collections for the fall-winter season. A great way to break gray, autumnal monotony is to bring some dynamics and differences in style of dressing. I like to give my personal touch to everything and make all my work unique. This may be a detail or a whole piece of clothing. I believe that everyone can enrich its collection of clothing with some unique details. One of the ways that I recommend for this season is wearing knitted pieces of clothing.
Knitted clothes are gaining in popularity because many works stand out from the template and offer a special fashion experience. So I decided to try myself in this art, because knitting is really an art, much more than a skill. I started this adventure with finding designs. It is almost unbelievable what human hands can make of yarn and needles. Combinations of materials, colors are truly magical. I like to knit clothes because it allows me much more creativity. When I have a canvas in front of me, I can only cut it out in an interesting way and combine colors and details. When you create something out of yarn, then you have a huge number of ways in which something you can do -with bigger or smaller holes, such as lace, or densely knitted to imitate canvas. In a way, you create your own canvas.
Last year's models that were on the catwalks testify that the knitted fashion trend is on the rise. Let to mention Calvin Klein, whose last year's autumn collection was mostly knitted - from turtlenecks made of fine fibers to coats. And there's also Anita Hirlekar with her asymmetrical dresses made by hand felting technique. Knitting is much more than making a winter sweater. In the creation of knitted things, only your imagination limits you.
More and more young designers starting to deal with fashion in this way. Knitted fashion pieces have their advantages. If it is made of the natural fibers, they will suit to your skin. That's why I like knitwear even for the summer, although this fashion trend is related to the colder days. T-shirt or shorts made of thin cotton fiber are better for summer than any other material.
Handcraft will take a long time, but the piece made in this way will be unique. And if you really do not have time to try yourself in knitting, enrich your clothes with stitching. It does not require much time, and you can make ordinary things original and unique. I often like to decorate simple and monochrome things this way. It is enough to make embroidery edge of the sleeve or detail on some bags and made them more beautiful and special. Stitching is an easier technique for learning, so I recommend that, if you want to dive into these waters, start your learning from there. It would be useful when you start to knit, and you need to assemble two pieces.
While the range of products and designs that you can make is a big advantage, this work still has one huge flaw. Handmade prolongs production time and, therefore, increases the costs of such pieces. That is the reason why some models, which are truly creative and unique, have a really big price and rarely can be found available to ordinary consumers in retail stores. That is why Sam Leutton and Jenny Postle tried to industrialize this kind of production. It is not impossible. However, for specific details, machines are not sufficiently precise, and it is required the skill of human hands. On these machines, they made the knitted base and later add handmade details. This partially shortens the production process.
I like the knitted trend in all daily variations. I always have something knitted when I am on the road. This is a mandatory fashion accessory of my travel style. Traveling often require staying in different temperature conditions. Knitted garments, except that it is comfortable and beautiful, allows me to adapt to all these conditions easily. Typically, this is a nice cardigan that could easily be removed. It may seem comfortable and stylish, sporty at the same time - the perfect match for combining in all occasions. And this is very important when you travel because you do not need to carry a lot of stuff.
Due to the arrival of the new fashion season and colder days, I decided to create several knitted pieces of clothing. Given that I have to make them manually, there will not be many pieces. I am aware that this will take some time, but I am also aware that every piece will be unique. Knitting is great for making autumn ponchos, tunics, sweaters, dresses... And not only for the upper part of the body - knitting needles and skilled hands can make great pants and skirts. Each handiwork has in itself involved and imperfections of human hands, and that is what gives a touch of luxury to such collections. Hard work and imagination that are embedded, and the time for making, should certainly be respected.
If you want to try yourself in this skill, I will wholeheartedly support you. All you need is a yarn and a pair of knitting needles. For starters, if you have not done this so far, choose a simpler model. Learn to knit straight , to combine colors and make a scarf. Once you have mastered the basics, then move on to more complicated patterns. There are various patterns that can be used during the knitting. Some are simple, and the addition of color gives them dynamics. Others are so complex that they are perfect details themselves. You can find online tutorials for knitting for beginners or ask someone in your surroundings to teach you. It is not unusual that there are workshops of knitting in some places, so it is a great idea to get involved in one of these workshops. Be trendy this fall!
Like most people, I wish I was in better shape. Deciding to make better use of my gym membership, I joined my best friend for a few hours of cardio, weightlifting, and aerobics. During that time, I realized something that’s pretty profound: there’s more to keeping fit than losing weight and building muscle. Working out is also a fantastic way to meditate.
As I was hitting my punching bag like this one, listening to the thud of my gloves against the canvas and focusing on shifting my weight for maximum impact, the tension slipped from my body along with gallons of sweat. My muscles may have been in high gear but my mind was at total peace. If that’s not meditation, I don’t know what is.
Here are five ways that fitness is, in my opinion, a form of meditation.
Exercise boosts your mood
Exercise has a positive impact on our mood. One study revealed that working out regularly eased the symptoms of depression just as effectively as a popular anti-depressant. When you keep fit, you feel positive, grounded, and focused on success. That sounds a lot like a line from a meditation center brochure, doesn’t it?
Activity improves your heart rate
Meditation calms you and lowers your heart rate. So does working out. People who are physically fit actually enjoy lower, healthier heart rates. Although the two disciplines take different approaches -meditating is about stillness while the treadmill has you running like a lawyer after an ambulance- the effect on your cardiovascular health appears to be the same.
Staying fit improves your memory
There is strong evidence that exercise has a positive impact on the way your prefrontal cortex functions. That’s the part of your brain that controls your working memory as well as attention span and mental agility. Research has shown that meditation has equally positive effects on the brain. Not too long ago I read about a study that involved Tibetan monks with 10,000 to 50,000 hours of accumulated meditation practice. The electrical activity in their brains, along with their recall abilities, put the rest of us to shame.
Working out makes you hit the ‘zen zone’
Gym workouts and meditation sessions can both take you to a state of zen. When you’re meditating, the resulting relaxation and calmness brings on this feeling. Lifting weights and kickboxing take you into the same headspace by causing you to release endorphins. The resulting euphoria is a variation of the ‘runner’s high’ we’ve all heard about.
You get amazing ideas from both activities
Meditation brings you to a state of relaxation that allows you to calmly assess what’s going on in your life and come up with reasoned, non-emotional solutions. Workouts also give you a terrific opportunity to focus your thoughts and see connections that you never considered before. It certainly gave me the idea for this post!
Despite differences in practice methods, exercise and meditation both allow you to re-energize, find your inner strength, and channel the energy you need to overcome challenges. I think I’ll be using that gym membership more often.
Every real connoisseur of fashion knows that fashion is not just what we see on catwalks. Many of those models are only an artistic expression of the author , and they are not wearable in everyday situations. Many of models are designed to be practical, functional and useful at the same time. Fashion is all around us. It is a way of life and of looking at things.
You can find it on the street in simple outfits, on glamorous dinner parties and even where is least expected, in hunting! Fashion in hunting is not glamorous - the emphasis is on practicality and functionality.
Hunting equipment should be comfortable, and without too many colors. For the clothes are mainly used colors that enable better adaptation to the forest and field, and hunter orange to make you visible to other hunters.
When you spend all day in nature, it is very important to have adequate and comfortable shoes. Various weather conditions in nature require different conditions when it comes to footwear.
- 1. If the weather conditions are cold, you need shoes that will be warm.
- 2. If the ground is bumpy, you need footwear that is not heavy, with crampons, that will not cause accidents.
- 3. If the weather conditions are wet, if it's raining, snowing, or you step on the wet and muddy pitch, the most important is to have waterproof footwear.
You might think it's simple to choose the shoes for hunting, but the choice of hunting footwear is really diverse, and I think that this review may be very useful: http://www.edgehunting.com/best-hunting-boots-reviews/
Fashion Accessories are also an integral part of every outfit. When ordinary, everyday situations or ceremonial wardrobes are in question, then that means all those details that complement someone's appearance - from jewelry, bags to hair ornaments. When the fashion in the hunt in question, practical use has priority over an aesthetically complement of the appearance.
Whether you hunt or you go hiking in nature, a good knife is what certainly must be a part of your fashion accessory. It can be useful in different situations, either to overcome obstacles or to deal with some wildlife. Hunting knife should be primarily sharp, then a compact and practical. It should not to take up too much space and be an additional burden. My recommendation at this point is a model of hunting knife which can be seen here.
It is clear that you will not go hunting dressed in elegant clothes.Fashion, after all, does not mean only elegance. If you are a fashion lover like me, then you know to cherish your style in every situation, and you have a special way of dressing for the street, and special for physical activity.
Having a style means adjusting to the situations in your own way. So, choose pants and a jacket that suits you, add the appropriate hat, choose shoes that combine comfortable and nice. And show us a picture! Prove it ,on your case, that fashion and hunting can go hand in hand!
I started archery just as a hobby initially. One of my friends had launched a small archery range a few months back and invited me to the range. At the beginning, I didn’t know much about it and had such a bad sense of aim that she banned me from the range for some time. Being bad at something results in two types of mindset. You either shun it totally or take it up with vengeance. I did the latter. And after persuading my friend of my good (?) intentions, I started taking the beginner lessons she had arranged. Now I can reasonably aim an arrow at the target, which is in itself a great feat for me.
Archery is actually a skill where you shoot arrows from bows. It is an ancient practice, which our ancestors took up not for fun as we do now but for food and survival. Archery is an important skill warriors had to learn to win battles. With the development of firearms, archery’s significance faded, but it has instead gained attention as a hobby and sport.
Traditionally archery has been used for providing food and protection and for recreation purposes. There have been many changes in the simple string and stick pattern. From compound bows and recurve bows to rangefinders, you can glimpse quite a lot of changes taking place in archery. The recurve bows especially have been tweaked a lot as you can see at this site. While there are the new, three-dimensional target ranges and use of archery to hunt game, I love archery in its basic traditional form. Archery the way our ancestors did is an irresistible form for me. Here are some basics in archery.
Arrow - This is a key part of archery. Without a proper arrow, even if you have the best bow, you cannot shoot at the bull’s eye. Arrow is usually made of a wooden shaft, which is now available in aluminum or carbon. The arrow has a nock, which allows it to rest on the bowstring and a fletching for stabilization of the arrow while it flies. The most important part is the target tip, which is blunt or broached based on its specific use.
Bows - Bows are mainly of two types, recurve, and longbow. Longbow is straighter and curved from one end to the other like a D shape. Recurve bow has more curves to give better power to the bow. I prefer the Hoyt Buffalo bow, though it is on the expensive side and not for beginners. Since I’ve gained moderate archery skills, it is an appealing choice as it is quite powerful.
Quiver - This helps in holding additional arrows. The quiver also protects the archer from being hurt, if he uses the sharp braodheads. The quivers can be worn like a backpack with a single strap or let to hang by the archer’s side. You can even find quivers, which attach to the bow too.
Armguard - This protects the archer’s forearm from being hurt by a released bowstring.
Shooting glove - This is used by an archer to release the string in a smooth way without harming his fingers. Nowadays mechanical release is available, so this is not in use now mostly.
Being fashionably dressed to a party or event is a cakewalk compared to looking stylish and chic, when you travel. But fashion should cater to the needs of travelers too. I always arm myself with the smartest clothes that fit travel to a T. While the image of packing for travel may bring to your mind endless number of suitcases, you need not pack a huge number of clothes to make you look trendy while travelling.
Choosing the right clothes that pack well and are wrinkle free without compromising on the practical functions such as keeping you protected from the bugs or concealing your valuables and money safely is what you need to look at. I think your fashion sense is the most highlighted, when you look best dressed while on the road. This is not as overwhelming as it sounds. Here are some tips that help you look gorgeous and well-dressed during travel.
Jacket with multiple pockets
Travel jackets that have a good number of pockets sure comes in handy. Recently I bought a travel jacket with 22 pockets for my friend. While I thought this a bit overboard, I found a jacket with 26 pockets for men. When you are on the trails hiking or trekking, these jackets sure help to lessen the bags you carry with you. A jacket with removable hood and sleeves that makes it substitute as a vest is also good choice.
Two in one pants
When you’re on the road, you never know when the temperature can turn against you, especially when you are travelling in between seasons. The convertible pant is a great travel wear to have. It dries quickly and is wrinkle free. When you use the zip in the bottom, the pants turn into shorts of knee length. This is apt for day and night travel on road too. Driving during night is something everyone avoids due to the lighting difficulties. This is why I have a very efficient led light bar fixed on my car to ensure proper lighting even in unpredictable weather.
A scarf with pockets for holding your wallet, ID, iPod and anything else you think of may not be the item to wear, when you are at a party, but it surely is just right when you travel and want everything handy. With baggage fees being increased by airlines, having a mini add on carry bag is certainly a way to save your money too
The foldable shoes are practical for travelling, especially for women who can let go of the punishing high heels while traveling. But these are not for walking. The shoes are bendy, comfortable and light in weight, but you cannot go shopping or take a mile long walking tour in them. They can however fit easily into your suitcase or even a large pocket, so are highly travel-friendly additions, and look good too.
Bug repellant clothes
Swatting at bugs while you’re fashionably dressed is not something that is good to look at. You can find an entire range of bug free clothing right from shirts and pants to socks, hats, and bandana, which have a bug repellant chemical applied on them. The chemical is safe and repels ants, ticks, creepy crawlers and mosquitoes and the effects lasts up to 70 washes. If you are planning a trip to localities that are filled with bugs, these clothes are a great choice.
Shoes are the ultimate fashion accessories that women spend much time and money on. Wearing fashionable shoes that suit the attire and season is certainly a huge task that needs lots of attention. From the lace-ups and flats to graphic and killer gladiators, and not to mention the high platforms each season has many options to pick from.
But whatever footwear you choose, there are some important things to look into which make your purchase complete and worth the money you shell out. I often help my friends and family choose the right footwear whenever they need help, which is often I should say. While the fashionable varieties are only worn for short periods, they do not have much impact but the shoes you wear to work and while you exercise should be chosen with care. I’ve compiled this list of things that you need to keep in mind, while purchasing shoes.
When you work out, ensure that you do the exercises safely and avoid any injury risk. Since exercises involved varied dynamic movements, which when not done properly can cause sprains, pains, aches and sometimes even fractures. This is because the overload on tissues without shock absorption leads to mechanical stress on the body. When you buy the right type of shoes, you should ensure that optimum feet function is present to absorb the shock as it is transmitted through tendons, ligaments, and bones during activity.
Although modern day sports shoes are created from advanced materials created because of elaborate research, so maximum performance and minimum risk is present, you need to purchase shoes that are designed particularly for the activity you want to perform. For instance, if your work involves standing all day, the splendid shoes available here would help you make the perfect choice.
Shoes for running
Running shoes should be flexible allowing the foot to flex and bend with each step. Since running is a forward movement instead of side stepping that you do in aerobics or tennis, a running shoe cannot be used for such activities because the ankle is exposed to strains and sprains risk. If you have frequent ankle pain or damage, it is most probably because your shoes are too flexible.
Shoes for cross training
Since cross training involves a wider range of activity, you need shoes that are stiff and give your foot better support. This reduces the flexibility, which is needed for your toes and foot to relax. As a result, they are forced to work more while you run. This shoe category is best for gym activity only. I always make it a point to choose my shoes at http://nicershoes.com, as you get the right advice and numerous reviews to help with your selection.
These are mainly for aerobics as they combine support and cushioning effect perfectly. This reduces shock on the joints, while doing the exercises.
Sports like basketball, tennis etc. need such type of shoes as these provide sideways support and flexibility that is required.
Other than the above considerations, there are individual variations that have to be taken into account such as the skeletal structure, compensation level of your feet and impact on weight bearing joints.
The appearance of the nails becomes more and more important. They have become a real fashion accessory. For years back, women give increasing amounts of money for beautiful nails. It is no longer trendy to put nail polish on nails that are uneven and imperfect. Today you can have a perfectly shaped nails molded with acrylic gel if you visit some of the salons for a manicure. Increasing demand for beautiful nails is a fashion trend in the development, but also a potential source of profit. Have you ever thought about becoming a nail technician?
Being a nail technician is a nice and creative profession. For this, you need a good imagination, a good eye for detail and good equipment in the form of scissors, nail files, gels, nail polish, UV lamps and the like. Yet, that is not all you need to get started with this job. In fact, the whole story is much more complex. Beautiful nails should be primarily clean and healthy. There are many things that one nail technician needs to know about nails before it starts earning. It is very important that the person who takes care of your nails is certified. This certificate is proof that the technician has completed basic training and learned all about diseases related to the nail, hygiene, ways of disinfection, their treatment and ways of decorating nails. If you are wondering how a nail technician spends his day at work and what is the perspective of this business, visit website http://nailtechnicianschools.net.
Social networks, especially Instagram, are full of trendy nail pictures. This is yet another proof that this profession is popular, and it's worth investing in this type of training. Maybe you do not like the idea that you have a daily obligation to go on a course? Well, the great news is that you do not have to! There are online schools for nail technicians which allow you to complete the training from your house.
In schools for the nail technicians you can learn all about the nails, the pedicure and manicure and ways of decorating. However, you will have to learn alone where is the line between good taste and kitsch. There are numerous decorations for nails, from sequins to zircons and 3D decorations. The combination of all that is available, at the same time, may seem terrible.
Do not forget the importance of good communication. It is important to establish good contact with your customers and recognize their needs. Find out what they need, for what occasion, where they work, what are their habits. Certain professions require short nails, but that does not mean that they do not have to be neat, healthy and beautiful. Glamorous celebrations require glamorous nails that go along with the rest of the fashion accessories and clothes. Perhaps it is easier to fulfill the wishes of the client. If the selection of decorations is up to you, it is best to be moderate. The latest trend of nails in the form of marbles will not impress anyone. The long, sharp-pointed nails full of sequins at the older woman, can act scary and kitschy. So, it is not that bad to invest in your knowledge before you start to deal with nails. It is an investment that is always in fashion.
Fashion can be a mind boggling aspect of dressing at times especially with regard to the change in times and other external aspects such as the weather. Knowing what to wear so as to be presentable as well as feel comfortable can complicate matters when the weather begins to change at abrupt times and on short notice.
Changing weather can be a deterrence to the successful planning of one’s wardrobe for the night or day and it is essential that one device methods of ensuring they are able to dress for the occasion and maintain an acceptable level of comfort no matter the current condition of the environment. This requires finding methods of combining different types of clothing that are designed to be worn during different conditions into a mixture that is not only becoming of the individual but practically applicable as well.
This kind of fashion sense requires a touch of creativity that one can slowly develop either through the attainment of 2nd hand knowledge or from practical experience. Needless to say, learning about these combinations firsthand may require a level of trial and error that would mean that the individual in question will undergo a number of uncomfortable and potentially embarrassing situations.
One would rather heed the advice from others that have been through the predicament of unpredictable weather before and have developed a number of suitable solutions towards the various changes. It is towards this end that the subject of what to wear during unpredictable weather has come to light throughout various platforms of discussions of fashion.
Just as an indoor plantation would require quality LED grow lights to thrive in their manmade conditions, the need for a successful combination of clothes will play a role in the level at which a person would be able to enjoy their outings. There are a number of fashion items that can be applied in all types of weather and serve more than one purpose depending on the type of weather an individual is facing.
These clothes and accessories should be the first to be considered when contemplating methods to maintain a level of comfort throughout the changing weather. Some of these items are everyday items that an individual may not have considered to be essential in their final decision yet can play a great role in the end with regard to the question of adequately managing the weather according to one’s dress. Some of these items include:
Hats are quite remarkable accessories as they are able to protect against both extreme heat as well as cold conditions. The choice of one’s hat can play a role in whether they will be able to stay cool on a sunny day or keep a dry face in the pouring rain. The material of the hat can determine the success one is able to capably achieve this. For example, water resistance would be a good characteristic to have during sporadic rains.
A coat would be a good accessory to have during the cold weather and in situations where the sun tends to come out every so often, the top should not be so bulky as to make cumbersome to carry about when one does not need to wear it.
When it comes to creating designs for clothes, the number of places where you can find inspiration is only as limited as you allow it to be. Some designers like to look at the designs created by others and then change them a little, or simply copy them completely, though that second option can lead to a lot of trouble – plagiarism charges, fines, imprisonment or worse. Considering this, it’s a much better idea to come up with ideas of your own, or if you do find a source you’d like to replicate on fabric, to significantly change the design you make, so it doesn’t look just like the original.
Sourcing designs isn’t easy, even if you have a lot of experience doing it. But being able to pull ideas and concepts from the world surrounding you is important to becoming a good designer, so it’s something every designer should probably learn to do at some point if they want to be successful. For instance, sometimes I like to look at old musical instruments, like pianos, which often featured elegant designs, carvings, woodwork and other features. Some of these instruments still look beautiful despite their great age, and I think it’s every designer’s dream to come up with something that has lasting appeal.
There are other places besides clothing where you might be able to find interesting designs you can implement into garments. I sometimes look to architecture as well, for effective use of colors, windows, lighting and the like. This one is kind of hard to explain since you don’t really see people walking around dressed up like buildings or anything. It’s just, at least to me anyhow, it’s about finding things that are pleasing to the eye and then converting them to clothing, to make garments which are equally pleasant for people to look at.
Now I can’t go giving all my secrets away, but I think I’ve still done a good job of showing various resources designers have – resources they may not even realize exist because they are too focused on popular clothing crafted by other designers. I guess more than anything, I’m trying to explain the importance of perspective here. The way we look at the world around us has a lot to do with what it is we see there, exactly. Learning how to view things properly as a designer is a major step away from the amateur and towards the professional.
Well, that’s about it, except for that piano bit. When life becomes stressful, and this is pretty much an inevitable occurrence for all of us, it can really help to get away from those stressors for a while. Doing something a bit lighter and easier on the body and mind is kind of taking a break after working for many hours on your feet, or doing something physically demanding. Playing with one of these for a while has certainly helped to relax me in the past, leaving my mind refreshed and ready to try approaching a difficult problem from angles I hadn’t considered before. It’s not guaranteed, but every bit helps.
Today, I want to talk about something you may have considered yourself, in the past. People are violent. I understand there’s a certain level of violence which is kind of necessary to life; killing animals for meat, harvesting crops for produce, fighting off someone who would try to get you to do something by using violence himself. Violence is a necessity, I think. But some people sure do seem to enjoy it more than others. Really, we are the only animals on this planet that kill for reasons besides hunger or safety. We hunt game as a hobby, killing just for the fun of it.
That’s not even the worst of it if you ask me. I understand the need for some people to learn how to track animals, to kill them and drag them back home for food, for making products, for a number of purposes. But for the life of me, I’ll never understand catch and release fishing. At least when a hunter shoots a deer, the deer dies. You don’t put holes in these animals and then release them back into the wild severely injured, right? This seems especially violent and senseless and I don’t think I’ll ever really get why people do it.
On the other hand, fishing for food is something I understand completely. With something like this and a decent rod, spear, gun or bow, you could catch enough fish or other animals that you would never go hungry again. Depending on your specific tastes, one type of game is going to eat better than others. The only problem with this is the various hunting and fishing seasons which disallow bringing back specific types of game during periods where it is ok to hunt or fish the other types. It’s a lot of stuff to learn, unless you plan on just going off and poaching, which is highly illegal.
Since I mentioned rangefinders, they’re actually very useful devices and not just for hunting and fishing either. They’re perfect for measuring distances between the user and a given point, making them kind of like advanced binoculars which do a lot more than just let the user see something from far away. You can use them for golfing, watching birds, construction and a number of other tasks, so they’re pretty versatile. Most hunters, fishers and other people who are regularly trying to hit targets from a good distance away will probably want to own one of these devices.
That doesn’t really do anything to change the brutality of hunting though – it just makes it easier to brutalize more often. Now, I’m not saying humans are the only animals that understand cruelty. If you’ve ever seen a common housecat that’s caught a mouse, a bird or some other smaller animal, they can be pretty wicked without any help from an owner. For the most part though, animals just aren’t as violent as people, or if they are, it’s for different reasons than to simply curb boredom for a time.
Designing clothes was something I wanted to do as far back as I can remember, and I’m happy I was able to land a career in fashion design where I would be able to do this thing I always wanted to do, every day. Some designers will tell you that making clothes is all about the fabric being used, or the cut of a garment, or the design itself. I’ll concede that these are all important aspects of creating unique and interesting clothing, but I don’t think anything is as important to the lasting appeal in an article of clothing as the stitching. That is always an excellent indicator of the quality of an item.
Like knots, different types of stitches are better for different purposes; one stitch which is an excellent choice for a specific job could be useless for another. The straight stitch or basting stitch as some call it is a simple line which loops through the front and back of whatever material you’re working with. This is simple and fast, and usually the first type of stitch one learns to make when they first start sewing. It isn’t exactly durable though. One way to make it last longer is to double stitch, which is basically the same type of stitch but uses twice as much thread to make a stronger stitch.
The zigzag is another good stitch to use if you want something which will hold together through regular stress or strain. You could make this stitch by hand, or with the right sewing machine or serger if it’s able to make multiple kinds of stitches. The zigzag looks like small V shapes stacked on top of one another and made into a line. There is also a three step zigzag which is a variant of this, but it doesn’t really look much different or offer a significant improvement in durability over the zigzag.
Speaking of sergers, machines like the Brother 2430 CV are far superior to your standard sewing machines. They’re able to work different threads simultaneously and allow for creating unique designs or getting much more work done with the same amount of time spent sewing. I’d recommend one of these machines to someone who is experienced with sewing, but due to their advanced nature over more simple machines it would probably be better to start off with something else if you are new to the hobby.
Depending on what it is you’re trying to sew, you’ll want to use a specific stitch for the job. Directly sewing a tear in a garment would use a different stitch than sealing the same hole by applying a patch and sewing it in place over the tear, for example. You can usually find the best stitch for your specific project by searching online, but do keep in mind that opinions play a huge part in this. Even if one source says a certain stitch would work best, that’s not exactly proof of the fact. Remain open to trying different stitches and you’ll learn for yourself which work best for what.
The way you get around says a lot about you. Just like the clothes you’re wearing (right down to their color even) can have an effect on the way people perceive you, your mode of transportation will lead folks to make some judgments about you, usually long before they’ve ever actually met you or engaged you in a conversation. We’re all visual creatures, so it makes sense that we rely so strongly on our eyes, but it still bothers me how quickly we formulate and install bias for someone we’ve never even met solely because of what we see. I do this too; I think everyone does.
Getting back to the point here, I’m not at all surprised when I see people dressing up their vehicles, whatever those might be. From racing stripes and tail fins on cars to stickers, extra wide racks and other items plastered onto longboards, I see this sort of thing all the time. Just like in nature, unique designs, flashy colors and interesting patterns catch the eyes of onlookers and demand attention. It makes perfect sense, even if some of the special designs people come up with are pretty gaudy or downright ugly. Having a unique look does not necessarily mean a thing will be pleasing to the eyes as well.
Some people will actually spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars to get their vehicles detailed at a professional shop. Auto detailing can be a pretty profitable career path if you happen to live in a large city with many people, or in a smaller city with a much higher demand for that specific type of automotive work. You could probably work out a nice little side job doing similar stuff to boards, bikes and other modes of transportation, but the profits would be measurably lower consider the significantly lower costs of those transports when compared to a motor vehicle.
I’ve actually thought of doing some designs for vehicles in addition to the work I already do designing clothing. It would be pretty similar. When I see the vast number of different boards available at http://longboardingnation.com/best-longboard-reviews/ and other resources, I think it might actually be even better to work out a business making those stylish. There could be a mailing program where they ship the boards to me, then I apply my designs and ship them back. Or I ship designs which could be ironed into the board or applied another way. I don’t know; it’s pretty interesting stuff if you ask me.
So, have any of you seen interesting designs on vehicles or other modes of transportation lately? I’d actually like to hear more about this from others who have seen more than I have. Of course, I could always just check on a search engine, but that would be pretty boring. I’m always looking for new ways to apply my skills in analyzing and creating designs, and this seems like a pretty good way for me to do it, but one I just haven’t tried yet.
I really enjoy the field of fashion design and coming up with creative new ways to dress men, women and children. But it’s that attention to detail, that eye for the unusual, which has me looking other places for interesting designs as well. I’m talking about things beyond the world of clothing – like exercise equipment, for example. Now I don’t think there’s any way you could make a bunch of metal and weights look appealing, but it’s a fact that different machines have different designs, and some work better than others for users because of these differences in designs.
Sometimes, the simplest designs are the best. If you look at barbells or other hand weights, they work better than most of the expensive equipment you can buy when you just want to do some simple resistance training. They manage to condense a specific amount of weight into an object which is small and manageable. If you’ve ever tried to lift something which wasn’t even that heavy but was simply unwieldy due to its size or dimensions, then you already know that there is a certain ease to lifting simple objects like hand weights. It’s not a design you can really improve upon.
That’s not to say there isn’t exercise equipment which couldn’t be improved with some design adjustments. There are countless power racks and garage gyms gathering dust in people’s homes, unused because of poor design. I’m not going to just blame the machines either – I’m sure some of them go unused simply because whoever bought them changed their mind or didn’t end up using them as much as they thought they might. I’m no engineer, but I do know a few things about design. For instance, more moving parts are usually a bad thing if you can get the same function with fewer.
An ergonomic design is especially important to exercise equipment. While exercising is inherently not a very relaxing activity, the equipment used to do the exercising should be comfortable. It must be designed specifically to avoid injury or undue strain for the user, or at least to reduce the odds of these negative effects occurring when the machine is used. To illustrate this, look at those Shape Ups made by Skechers. They were billed as revolutionary new footwear that was supposed to be perfect for the active person. Because of poor design they injured many users, sometimes permanently.
In this way, designing decent exercise equipment is a lot like designing clothes. Clothing needs to be comfortable for people to wear it – they will simply buy something else is a shirt or slacks don’t fit or are restrictive to the wearer. Furniture, vehicles and many other commodities also need to be built with comfort in mind if the manufacturer expects to turn a profit with their goods. I’m not saying comfort is the most important factor when creating or designing something, but it’s definitely too important to ignore. Cost, durability, resale value and other points all factor into the quality of an item as well.
